Alexa, the voice assistant of Amazon, soon in your microwave?

Amazon would have in its boxes a range of new gadgets compatible with his voice assistant Alexa. There is the talk of home audio devices, for the automobile and even home appliances, including a microwave.

Eight new products are incorporating Alexa, Amazon’s personal assistant, including a microwave, a router and a subwoofer, would soon be marketed, according to CNBC information.

They should be ready by the end of 2018; the end of September should even offer some of them. These devices focus on the everyday lives of users, in homes or cars. This is the first time that Alexa has made a direct seat in home appliances.

Amazon ready to enter the home appliance market

According to CNBC news on September 17, the new Amazon devices (microwave oven, amp, subwoofer and auto gadget) will have the ability to connect to Alexa even if the voice assistant does not integrate into the departing devices. Some non-Amazon brands, such as Sonos, GE and Garmin, have already adapted their products to be compatible with Alexa.

With devices in these new categories, Amazon looks set to enter the connected home appliance market, a market that is currently growing thanks to the development of smart devices. While Amazon seems to be increasingly focusing on home and car products, Alexa’s grip on users’ everyday lives still appears to be spreading.
